Monsanto is a terrorist organization second only to Al Qaeda, plain and simple. The damage they have caused to the countryside is irreversible. You cannot spray your way out of this b.s.:

Ironically it is too late for us to do anything about GM Corn or any other of Monsanto’s products.

Nature on the other hand is already defeating Monsanto by having the corn worm mature earlier.

Of course, what kind of idiots think this stuff is ‘safe’?

“The study is also likely to create friction in the United States, where opponents of genetically engineered foods in California are fighting to have all GMOs removed from the food supply” This is erroneous as stated. Proposition 37 is about consumers right to know what is in their food. It demands labeling of GMO’s on food packaging so that a consumer can make an informed choice whether to eat gm food or not. Monsanto, Dow, Kellogs, and many other corporations with a vested interest in keeping people in the dark about what they’re putting in the food are fighting this vote with mega millions of dollars of misinformation campaigns.

The article is not really correct when it says “opponents of genetically engineered foods in California are fighting to have all GMOs removed from the food supply.” The issue in California is Proposition 37 to be voted on in November, which would require that foods have labels advising the public when the food has genetically modified ingredients. This seems very reasonable to me. I like to know what I’m eating and then I can make my own informed choice.

That is incorrect. Prop 37 seeks to have GM foods LABELLED as containing GMOs.

Please correct this egregious error that makes it seem as though people who are wary of the health effects of GM foods are all radicals against all GM.

You are way off base. What Monsanto is doing is 100 times worse than what Al Qaeda can do. Terrorists can only wish to have the bio weapons Monsanto deploys to destroy the Eco balance of our planet.
Just look at the obesity and cancer epidemic that rages in the US.
Every one of the studies Monsanto did to prove their products are safe is flawed, because they only look at the interaction of their product with a specific animal(s) or an organism. They never study an effect on the bio sphere as a whole resulting from this interaction. Such studies are impossible to perform and they KNOW IT!
It took millions of years of evolution to create the balance of nature and Monsanto is trying to convince us that their scientist can recreate the same in their labs in a matter of month…

Better late than never…. Americans have been (unknowingly) eating this stuff for years, and now they’re looking into extrapolated safety??? Wait till you see the results for fertility only two generations down the line…sad!!! (look it up, the studies are there, they just don’t get media attention.)

So let me get this straight. Scientist that genetically modify foods are bad, they lie about their tests, and they are destroying the world. Ecologists who lie to get their point across, have data models that are proven wrong yearly, and want to force the biggest wealth transfer ever in the history of man are above reproach. I will never understand the environmentalists logic.

French Scientists. All the good ones left France years ago. Those remaining produce a Peuogot level of research. No reporting on quantities fed or peak consumption rates among the treatment groups. No explanation why statistical methods deviated from standard methods. One of the main reasons you would leave out such method details in your report is that you do not want other labs testing your results. Just a theory :)

A few comments and corrections. First, 90-day feeding trials with GM crops are required only in Europe. The US FDA does not require any testing before GM crops hit the market. In fact, FDA has only a weak “voluntary consultation” system for GM crops. FDA encourages GM crop developers to consult with it, but then at the end of that process issues only a brief memorandum and letter, reiterating the biotech company’s assurances that the GM crop is substantially equivalent to conventional varieties. FDA does not approve GM crops as safe, but depends on the developer’s assurances.

Lifetime feeding trials are absolutely needed for GM crops. The disturbing results of Prof. Seralini’s study will hopefully wake up regulators and the scientific community to the potential hazards of GM crops and lead to much stricter testing requirements.

Second, California’s Proposition 37 (referred to in the last paragraph) is for mandatory labeling of GM foods, NOT to “remove them from the food supply.” It is a simple right to know law, and in light of this study, much needed. One must wonder why Monsanto and others in the biotech industry are so afraid of labeling, if they really do believe their GM crops are safe. Even Forbes recently came out with an editorial in support of this initiative.

Such an orchestrated effort to discredit the research is to be expected given the huge mega $$$ invested in this technology. However, GM food have never been shown to be safe and research studies showing the opposite has consistently been derided and ridiculed – for example from UK showing organ damage in rats fed GM food and from Russia showing infant morbidity and sterility among rats within three generations. The comment from the Australian scientist that we are not all dying off is fatuous. GM foods may be harmful without being deadly – viz the huge unexplained proliferation of allergies among children in the last 10 – 15 years.
When will be wake up!! Hopefully California will lead the way and vote for mandatory labeling so that we can make up our own minds what we eat.

TheNewWorld,

Don’t blame the scientific conspiracy for the opposition to GMO’s, instead look up how many small farmers Monsanto sued in the US for using they GMO seeds due to cross pollination. This is their deliberate strategy in order to intimidate organic farmers and drive them out of business.
Monsanto also sued dairy farmers for “daring” to put “contains no BST” labels on their milk cartons.
Finally US had tried through the 1990′s to force third world countries to accept Monsanto transgender seeds as a precondition to supplying agricultural aid. This caused such a scandal at the World Agricultural conference that US had to back down.

Now, why don’t you gives us proven facts of “world scientist’s conspiracy” you BS about.

Have you seen this:

Invest 1.5 hours of your time if you haven’t. I promise you it will be well worth it and do spread the word around. I am just astonished at the sheer number of people waking up to the evil called Monsanto and the GMO garbage they are desperate to shove down our throats. I genuinely do feel sorry for American people whose countryside is under siege by Frankenstein superweeds that only napalm can destroy. This is a concerted effort by the big pharma and Monsanto to make as many people ill as possible but their days are numbered as this their evil cannot be covered up or lied about any longer. Americans will get their chance in November when California votes for mandatory GMO labeling. Lets put an end to this evil practice once and for all.

Oh, and by the way:

However, he added: “Numerous peer-reviewed scientific studies performed on biotech crops to date, including more than a hundred feeding studies, have continuously confirmed their safety, as reflected in the respective safety assessments by regulatory authorities around the world.”"

The Monsanto spokesman conveniently “forgot” to mention that ALL the feeding studies which concluded that GMO is safe were funded by Monsanto, and the EVERY ONE of the few independent studies showed significant health risk, just like this french study. he also conveniently “forgot” to mention that Monsanto makes it almost impossible for independent researcher top conduct feeding studies by withholding its GMO seeds from them and that Monsanto and his coterie of paid and fully owened “scientists” typically try to discredit anyone who dares to show any negative effect caused by GMO, just like they are doing with these French scientists.

I have rented a Peugeot this summer in France and it runs circles around any car produced in the US. So, if the French scientists produce “Peugeot level” research, as you say, then it is MUCH MORE credible than any US research on the effects on GMO if for no other reason because ALL the research saying it is harmless are paid by Monsanto and done by Yugo level scientists fully owned and operated by Monsanto.

Do you have any credible proof to support your allegations, or are you just repeating what you heard on Fox and expecting everybody to just take your word for it?
