They want to push for blasphemy laws while they are harassing, persecuting, and killing Christians and Jews as well as burning/destroying Bibles and Torahs? What’s wrong with this picture?

Rather than a criminalizing “Blasphemy”, it would be so much wiser to criminalize violence perpetrated in the name of religion. Make it illegal to commit a violent act against another person, faith or government in retaliation for an unshared beliefs or comments.

Here in the United States of America, freedom of religion and speech are basic tenets of our Constitution. Preventing either is a violation of human rights and what should be a basic Right to practice your own faith.

Any nation where these basic rights are violently opposed by the acting government or not judicially upheld and procecuted by that government, should be sanctioned minimally and face expulsion from the United Nations if violations continue without noticable squelching of the practices.

Pathetic. Who possibly could seriously worship a god so needy and feeble that (s)he can’t deal with a bit of blasphemy? If I ever get religion, I want a god who doesn’t need the support of a bunch of woman-hating whingers to defend his honour. My god will immediately strike dead anyone who even looks at a koran/bible in a funny way.
