The citizens of Greece must be pretty darn angry at their government to hurl petrol bombs at the police who’s primary job is to “Serve & Protect” the citizens they are firing teargas and water cannons at.

Hmmmmm….

True Rich, but Americans don’t waste gasoline by tossing is at the police.

I always wondered if a cop here in the United States would shoot his neighbor if confronted with that situation during a violent protest.

I got my answer during the OWS protests.

True Harry079 but the American people have the right to possess arms and yes they will not waste gasoline only bullets against tyranny from government.

You can thank the constitution and the NRA for it.

This kind of protest is pretty normal… US dont have something like this since the 50s
But today the american population is so well armed… that people wont use petrol bombs…

Now the greek parliament is paralized… again… due to parliament workers leaving… and bringing yet another delay…
But this is also normal… all countries that faced bankrupcy and IMF-like rescue with austerity to put public finances in order faced protests like this…

And history shows that protests were all but futile… since they have only merit in the public suffering but no logic in their arguments, they cannot expect achieve anything…
Because there is no solution but greece face the poverty that awaits… inside or outside the euro…

The only delay now is other politicians turn emotional and start to do irrational things like giving money to Greece without austerity… that will only last for a short time again… and greeks will be deep indebted with no reforms in 3-6 months or so… or approve the unlimited buying program… that with Spain and Italy sucking in to sustain their illusions… will bankrupt the entire eurozone in a very short time…

There is no point to having an EU if all member states issue their own bonds and get graded individually. The whole fiasco was a farce to begin with from day 1. Before the so called eurozone each country was self-sustainable and regardless of any inflation, people had jobs and went about their daily life. This is bullshit of the highest order and makes capitalism look very evil. Poor countries that do not have the infrastructure to export enough are doomed forever. The WTO summits have encouraged tarrif-free trading, exploiting 3rd countries and punishing the strong countries who cannot compete with their expensive labor. Unions are dying, journalism is dying, zionism is rising. People are blind!

Electing national government through the EU has become irrellevant unless it is right wing banker facist orientated. Unions are becoming weak, jobs are being outsourced, protesting is discouraged, and people can barely make ends meet any more. This was not the case before the EU monetary union. If we have mu then why not eurozone bonds? What kind of eurozone has one currency with nations having their own credit rating. Something is very, very wrong with this model and it will fail!

nikos…
what you are describing is not zionism or facism…it is globalization.
It is the other thing all poor countries that faced austeity through IMF-like bailouts protested against… they protested against austerity and globalization…lol
At the time they believed that globalization and free trade would wipe out their small national industry and replace it with multinationals… in some sectors it is true… but globalization is the engine moving trird world countries on what now are called emergent economies…
In the end globalization proved to be good for the southeast asia, latin america, africa… because provided the means to explore their potential competitive labour and develop their infrastructure and inprove living standards… that otherwise would be impossible without capital from other sources…

They get rich and you poor if there is more profit in it… that is the logic of globalization, a tool of capitalism… but rich countries people thought they would get even richier with it… haha what an illusion…
ofc free trade (another tool) is something no emergent would be idiot to consider… that is why it only exists in rich countries… so their markets can be exploited more efficiently…

Now you know why “Unions are becoming weak, jobs are being outsourced, protesting is discouraged, and people can barely make ends meet any more” But eurozone has another touch… when you start to use the single very strong currency and very low interest rates that by itself gave a boost to your income value… you had a credit party…
And you did not put foward the fiscal union, bank union, political union… to then start selling eurobonds… no one would be idiot now to allow eurobonds to help Spain, Italy and Greece at the same time their finances are in chaos…

Unions and communism – the cancer of all Western Civilizations. These protesters are organized by the very same orgs that brought us OWS.

They are agitators; they bring no solutions and offer nothing but organized hatred – just like the agitator-in-chief, Obama.

The difference between governments and gangsters is getting hard to see. The global government gang is the most brutal and murderous of the bunch. Why should a beautiful country like Greece be driven into poverty? They were conned into giving up their independence and now the “muscle” comes in to collect the debt.

Surprise, surprise! The Greek government voted the way the big banks told them to–and screw the Greek public.

Good, destroy more facilities and buildings. This is a smart way to stimulate the construction sector in the country. Just make sure your government won’t outsource the reconstruction works to companies from other countries because these companies offer better pricing with better quality and efficiency.
