Florida is a laboratory for the Republican Party to exert its will in denying large groups of Democratic voters to cast their ballots. It will fail and needs to be taken over by dare I say, the Federal Government in receivership since the State of Florida is incapable of managing its own affairs. After successfully getting George Bush elected despite the fact he LOST the popular vote in Florida, it is imperative that the voting be placed in the hands of Federal authorities and paid for by the State of Florida. No different than prisons or other failed state functions that the courts have deemed in need of receivership.

The great thing about global warming is that when the polar ice caps melt, Florida will be no more. I think the entire US needs to force Florida to secede. Or maybe just cut them off from the continental US and let them float out into the ocean. Bugs Bunny did it. They’re absolutely useless that this point.

What is it with Florida?!?!!? States bigger in size and population can pull it together. New York/New Jersey dealing with a storm that was historic could pull it together. I think Florida is like Congress, non functioning.

Republican Governor Rick Scott’s decision not to extend early voting ahead of Election Day, after it was cut back from 14 to eight days by Scott and the Republican-controlled Legislature, was also cited as causing exceedingly long voter lines at many precincts on Tuesday.

Another stupid Republican governor causes more gridlock by trying to fix what ain’t broken and making it break.

Voters should remember this the next time the Governor comes up for re election. He’ll be remembered as Governor “Long Lines”

Who knows, Obie could likely lose FL, knock 29 points off his EC count.
Then it won’t look as sweet. Would be at least a good conversation topic. Any other swing states not done counting, too close, absentee ballots or military votes not benn counted yet? Hmmm.

Have been patiently waiting to see the Presidential winner in Florida.

Just think its important that this election be processed till the last vote so America has
A clear picture of the entire election. I voted for Obama and I will wait till the last vote is counted.

All states need to be heard from then we can go forward.

What is wrong with Florida? They seem to be the only state in the nation unable to carry out an election.

Here we go again (to quote a previous president). What is it about Florida? It’s the last state to report results and they’re not even able to predict when they’ll have them ready. They’re talking about maybe the weekend. I’m betting next week at the earliest.

Yeh, I read their “excuses”–unprecendented long ballot, long lines due to high voter turnout, some folks waiting over 6 hours to vote. State officials should be embarrassed and if I were a Floridian I’d be embarrassed for my state. Why can’t Florida get its voting act together?

If any states had a more legitimate excuse this time around, it was New Jersey and New York. Storms threatening in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, consolidated voting areas, confusion over where to vote, no heat in cold conditions for voters and polling station volunteers, etc. Real excuses, not “long ballot,” “high voter turnout.” These should be expected. These are not acts of God or Mother Nature.

Florida, you should be ashamed. You’re just lucky the presidential election’s outcome isn’t hanging on your vote count. Otherwise, you’d be the laughing stock of the country–again–and you would have held not just the U.S., but the world in suspense while you dallied. And you’d think you would have learned from the first time in 2000–12 years ago. 12 years ago! After all this time, you still haven’t fixed an obviously broken system. No other state seems to have the problem yours does. As we say in Hawaii, auwe.

ThinkAboutItDos, they didn’t give him those EVs for Florida. If he loses it, which he won’t, his total will stay at 303. If he wins, it will be 332. Nice strawgrasp though.

anyone mind if i recall a measly 271 electoral votes that won bush2 his first term? and that only after needing his father’s appointed supreme court judges to overrule fl vote counting and declare him king (i mean winner). and then calling this a “mandate” to ruin our economy, start two wars, etc. etc. etc.
as my reichtie friends said in 2000 & 2004 – get over it, you lost.

Just sayin…….I have family there and have seen how it doesn’t work….sad

maybe now that Obama has been reelected, we can get to see his college records, and his law school writings while on the law school paper.
maybe we can find out why his wife was forced to give up her right to practice law. aybe we can find out why he has the same SS number as a man who died in Hawaii at a hospital that his mother worked in. Maybe now we can find out how his father’s birth certificate says that he, his father, was born in Kenya, when Kenya did not exist until decades later. maybe not.
