I have been an ER nurse for over 20 years. I have taken care of at least a hundred cases of rattlesnake envenomations and I have yet to see (“Doctors there administered 24 vials of antivenom to quash the dangerous toxins, according to a hospital spokesman.” a doctor administer a single dose of antivenom. Just mixing the antivenom can take up to 40 minutes. Then it is administered over an hour to prevent serum sickness. It just kills me that the nurse that saves the patients life never even gets a thumbs up.
