It is sad that the follows of Buddha, Jesus and Mohammed don’t follow their teachers’ teachings. I somehow doubt the Buddha would be happy that his followers were inflicting suffering on the Muslim population.

Religion is a mental disease; anyone who believes in invisible beings living in the sky should see a psychiatrist. If you have to worship something, just worship the beauty of the natural world.

Religion kills.

George Brown the original teachings of all the prophets would make the world a better place. It is people that have corrupted the messages not the religion.

kiwibird,

Religious belief is just a leftover from Humanity’s childhood. The messages were corrupt to begin with, or disingenuous at best. If Humanity is to survive as a race and prosper and be happy then religion has to die out, wither on the vine. Religion is the source of immorality, greed and hatred; just read this news article for proof.

@GeorgeBrown you are so wrong on so many levels. I wont defend the bad acts that have been used by violent and greedy people in the name of religion or that there are misogynistic tones to religion that definitely need to be dropped. To claim that religion is the cause of all evil is laughable. Next you are going to say that capitalism causes greed and that if we adopted communism then the world would be perfect. Oh wait….that doesn’t work.

I don’t think that Buddha approved of killings of any kind. So how come we have Buddhist monks involved (and not for the first time!) Quite enough to turn anyone away from organized religion indefinitely!!

This an exceptionally long article from Reuter. Where were these reporters when Muslims in Bangladesh burnt down Buddhist temples there and drove out Buddhists from their homes? Don’t remember seeing a long report on these atrocities. Where were these writers when these Muslims plotted to drive out Buddhist compatriots and set up so-called Islamic states in Myanmar with help from the OIC as reported. What about this alleged plot to take over someone else’s land by producing a deluge of babies? Any story on this?
Report all incidents fairly and be impartial. Muslims it seems are always plotting to take over somebody’s property, even in Europe. There will be peace if people don’t go around plotting to grab others’ things. Please help to stop the violence with fair and balanced reporting.

What an incredibly biased and shallow article
With all those details you threw it, it makes me almost feel sorry for the Rohhingya. Almost.
Before one so enthusiastically embraces the storyline of the Rohingya, one should examine the complex situation in more depth. The Rohingya are far from innocent. Explain why Bangladesh refuses to allow them in the country, not even as refuges, and ordered the NGOs to stop providing assistance to the Rohingyas. That is rather telling, no? It’s not simply because it is too taxing on Bangladesh’s economy. Look a little further, dig a little deeper. Who is arming the Rohingya? What is the Arakan Rohingya National Organization? Has the Rohingya cause been hijacked by Islamists? What about the fake photos passed around online? What is the reputation of the muslim Rohingya in Saudi Arabia and how are they treated there? Is it not hypocritical that Mulsim nations bemoan the suffering of the Rohiynga in Burma, yet they themselves barely treat them better? In Mayalsia, the Rohyinga children were often not allowed to attend school and denied healthcare – they are not treated as refugees.
So many questions have failed to be addressed in this article. I beg you to investigate further before perpetuating the fabrication of Rohingya victimhood and spreading false propaganda. It is way too easy to point to the Burmese government, who’s been the bad guy for such a long time, and blame them for the violence that is occurring in Rakhine. This story has another side.
Wake up
