Threat-focused Iran launches "biggest ever" air drills

Has the US ever invaded a country with an airforce??

They only seem to bomb 3rd world poor countries… I wonder how they will go actually being attacked themselves for once!

Iran should really be practicing these drill at night, the US only launches their invasions in the middle of the night because they are cowards.

Iran should expect a few thousand missiles and stealth bombers first as the Us would try to wipe out all of Irans defenses before they set a single foot on the ground.

Iran will need to strike the source of these missiles (warships) and the bases and runways where US jets take off and resupply from.

If Iran can wipe out a lot of US airpower and missile power the US will probably turn and run because it would be a fair fight, or they might nuke Iranian cities like cowards. It would be anyones guess at this stage because the US hasn’t fought an enemy that could fight back since the 40s… and they nuked them!

IRAN will lose, period. Nukes do not need to be used.

Why do these countries always want to fight? Why not just try to be human and get along? It would bring prosperity to a lot of countries. Why kill in the name of religion? Is there not a higher power all people believe in, but call our higher power by different names?

The main problem is if a war is started, it will involve multiple nations. It will not just be the U.S. and Iran. It could involve almost every nation depending upon how it starts and escalates.

I pray for peace and understanding of all people for a decent life without fear or war. This is my opinion.

I think Iran has just the right amount of theocratic crazy and military strength that if the US or Israel did hit them that they could inflict some damage back. I think they’d still lose in the end but it wouldn’t be the sort of point and click war that looks good in the news. A lot of people on both sides would die.

Of course Iran is so provocative that it only has itself to blame if it happens. What is there to gain by being so belligerent? This might explain why US is leaning on their economy with sanctions as much as possible. If the economy collapses and people can’t even afford to feed themselves they might be up for a spot of regime change, or at least vote in some moderate politicians when the chance arises.

What do you think war is, fair and romantic?

Send in a bunch of soldiers first so Iran can have a fair chance? We wouldn’t want to pull anything sly on those fortified positions, especially at night, because winning a war fast is.. bad?

The US saved more lives on both sides by dropping atomic bombs, rather than if they prolonged the war and invaded Japan. Even children were being taught to combat foreign invaders in Japan. It was a sad time for that nation, and the people of that time deserved what they got. Now Japan and the US are very close allies, and both nations are better for that.

I have to assume your either young or very innocent to the reality of history and warfare. Go do some reading before you embarrass yourself further.

“Iran should really be practicing these drill at night, the US only launches their invasions in the middle of the night because they are cowards.”

Cowardice? More like effective tactical strategy.

Iran should expect a few thousand missiles and stealth bombers first as the Us would try to wipe out all of Irans defenses before they set a single foot on the ground.

Yes, that seems like a prudent first move.

“Iran will need to strike the source of these missiles (warships) and the bases and runways where US jets take off and resupply from.”

Well, considering we have the largest navy in the Universe and military and airbases in 100+ countries – that would be quite the feat.

“If Iran can wipe out a lot of US airpower and missile power the US will probably turn and run because it would be a fair fight, or they might nuke Iranian cities like cowards. Nuke the country who refuses to stop building nukes…yes, that seems very fitting

So, what was the point of this baseless rant – to suggest that Iran could win a war with America? LOL, fat chance.

Germany, Japan, Korea, Viet Nam, Iraq…they all had an Air Force. Idiot. And they were all the aggressor. Iran has one too. And we have NEVER invaded a country without leaving it without an agreement to help build it back…when was the last time you saw a muslim do that? You have your head buried so far in Iran’s sand (and a–) your comments have no relevance or weight. You are just rattling a scabbard without even a saber.

Iran you are a joke, your air force wouldn’t last the first 3 hours of war with the United States. You can’t even hit a unmanned drone, its a pipe dream to think you will be able to shoot down one of our fighter jets with an American pilot behind the wheel. Not to mention we can hit your planes from miles away in air to air combat. You can’t hit what you can’t see.

You saw a muslim do what? Invade a country illegally, murder 100’000 to 1’000’000 of its citizens, and then hook up Halliburton with reconstruction contracts????

You might be clinically insane, get checked.

Hmm, US warplanes from the late Seventies?… some probably equipped with state of the art Revolutionary Guards technology…
If were the Iranian air force, I’d be careful not to fly this junk over populated areas of their country – could be dangerous.

Just let this impressive fleet take off, if it can, and see how many of these aircraft manage to get anywhere before their pilots find it no longer possible to resist gravity…

@Snowpine. : Well thank God some of us in this country are still romantic, even honorable like pendingapproval. Yes, indeed wars must be just and fought honorably and for godd reason. And the only good reason for war is defence of the country where you live and only when attacked.

We have neither the justification, nor the moral standing to unilatterally declare war on Iran as we already have with the sanctions. The Iranians, however, have all the justifications in the world to defend their fatherland.

Had Ron Paul been elected President, what I just summarized would have become our operating policy.

I feel sad for those like you who scoff at concepts like honor and justice

No war has been won purely on air firepower, eventually it’s boots on the ground that wins wars. And I’m afraid US does not have a good track record of that, just look at Iraq & Afghanistan the wars were inconclunsive, thousands dead on both sides not to mention the enormous cost of both wars. NO ONE WINS when there is a war, period, however superior fire power anyone has.
