The police (USA)come and disarm both parties (Israel and Palestine) at the same time. And force them to cool down. The police then without any interference let the court and its jury (UNO) work out a solution for both of them. It will take a couple years to settle the dispute I think.

However if the police keep on supporting and arming one side, the conflict might carry on for another 6 decades. Ongoing killing each other for 6 decades is a human tragedy.

So only one who suffer are Palestinian people not Hamas and not Israel. Israel only let Hamas rockets so far as much as they want to have large war campaign in Palestine. President Obama should take the initiative and set aside 20,000 sq km of land

As a Palestinian child is burned alive by Israeli aircraft bombers and Netanyahu endangers not only 1.7 million in Gaza but also 4 million of his own people, in an act of war designed to help his own re-election, it would appear that he has made a potentially catastrophic error of judgement.

The time has now arrived for serious consideration to be given for the whole of the Israeli state to be moved, lock, stock and barrel, out of the ancient land of Palestine and completely away from the Muslim Middle East, in order to avoid a disastrous global, nuclear war.

President Obama should take the initiative and set aside 20,000 sq km of land, (equal to the present area of Israel) in a low density state such as North or South Dakota. Compensation should be paid in full to all Israeli citizens in respect of their property assets and all removal expenses. Upon the land being vacated, all nuclear weapon installations to be dismantled and all stocks of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons of mass destruction to be neutralised.

This is the only alternative now to an escalating conflict that could see Israel deploying her nuclear weapons in an attempt to regain its military superiority and which will soon engulf the whole region and then spread its lethal radiation over Europe.

The UN, the EU and the US must now take decisive action against this latest warmongering. Time is of the essence if global markets are not to be seriously affected and million of lives put in danger. The situation is extremely serious, the danger is palpable and the time to act is now.

The tragic irony of all of this is that the Palestinians are actually directly descended from Jews who were forcibly converted first to Byzantine Christianity and then to Islam, over a period of some 1,500 years. The ultimate goal of Israel should be the eventual dissolution of the Palestinian people by reabsorbing them into the Jewish people, and the absorption of Palestine into Israel even if a Palestinian state needs to be temporarily created. The Jews are the indigenous people of the region, and the Palestinians are only indigenous inasmuch as they’re descended from Jews. And don’t bring up the Canaanites–they were not exterminated, but were absorbed into the Israelite people long ago.
When Israel goes to war against Hamas, what they are doing is fighting off a foreign invasive entity that has enslaved a part of Israel’s own people and has turned them against their own brethren.

You have asserted there is mutual hatred, this may be true, but it also may be true that there is an instigator of the hate, in which case it is entirely understandable why the other side reciprocates the hate. I find your comment entirely lacking in logic. The reason being, if you simply look at what happened here, it becomes glaringly apparent who the source of the issue is. Innocent civilians have been privy to scores of rocket attacks. 12,000 in the past 12 years. The perpetrator clearly has murderous intentions, otherwise why would he be doing such a thing? The retaliation, subdued as it has been, because of a complex on the side of the victims, effected by vicious media propoganda, is entirely justified. No amount of supposed thievery of land can legitimize these genocidal actions. When thousands of supposedly “unaffiliated with terror” Palestinians gathered together today to encore Hamas into “bombing Tel Aviv,” which clearly does not mean soldiers but also, and mainly, innocents, the fact that they were not bombed to death is unfortunate, for these evil people have made clear their murderous intentions. And as long as they live there will be no rest to it. The reason why they are not killed is because of sore-brains, who have a perverted moral compass, who say murder is self-defense and self-defense is murder.

Why does Israel bomb Gaza? Because some Gazans shoot rockets. (btw not all rockets are shot by Hamas, there are other factions in Gaza that are even more militant than Hamas)

Why does Gaza shoot rockets at Israel? Well, that blockade that keeps Gaza in perpetual depression is a good start. Settlements are another. And of course the Israeli army probably killed a few of their relatives.

It goes on and on like this. Make no mistake, everyone has blood on their hands in this region. But at the end of the day, I think the summary of Operation Cast Lead describes why I feel Israel is in the wrong. About a dozen Israeli soldiers died, while over a thousand Palestinians died, including women and children, some who were burned with White Phosphorous (which is illegal to use as a weapon!)

Don’t get me wrong. I do not support Hamas and I think shooting rockets at the strongest military in the region is suicide – even if the vast majority of rockets hit open land, harming no one, not even their property. But the Israeli government’s reaction is clearly disproportionate, and their actions will only lead to further international isolation.

The firing of missiles from Gaza into Israel is not good news, but nor are the far more devastating Israeli air strikes. These have been nothing but a part of a grim game of tit for tat in which Israel is most certainly not an innocent partner.
The enlosure of the whole Palestinian ghetto by the Israelis, appears to be a crime against humanity on an intolerable scale. The article above cites the grim statistics of the killing ratio. Over one hundred Palestinian victims for each Israeli killed in the last major episode of Israeli violence. And yes, each Paleatinian life is just as precious as each Israeli one. The ancient law of a tooth for a tooth is grotesquely exceeded by the disproportionate Israeli military response. And it is not just in this last episode that Israel has exerted disproportionate violence. So far as I understand the killing ratio has never fallen below about six Palestians per Israeli. And it is not just a question of killing. There is also the matter of economic deprivation, and the disproportionate taking of water resources in an area in which access to water is of paramount importance.

Hamas’s often cited opposition to the state of Israel is hardly surprising when Israel refuses to recognise Hamas as the democratically elected leadership of Gaza. And in any case, what is it that Hamas are supposed to recognise? It is a bit difficult to know what and where Israel is. It keeps on expanding settlements into areas recognised internationally as forming a part of the occupied territories, East Jerusalem included.
I was born in 1945.
I do not accept responsiblity for the victimization and murder of Jews, Gipsies, Slavs, class enemies and other groups under the regimes of Hitler and Stalin. It happened before I was born. And it is certainly true that the Palestinians were not responsible either. It is a curiosity of history that the UN agreed to recognise the new jewish state of Israel to be established in the homeland of the Palestinians. Of course the civilian refugees from Palestine were never allowed to return to their homes after the end of hostilities.

There is little evidence that Israel has ever really sought to find peace and understanding with its neighbours, or indeed with its own sizeable non-jewish minority, who do not enjoy equal rights within the state.
Israel cannot expect to achieve a negotiated peace when it assasinates Palestinian leaders, and destroys the Palestinian’s civil administrative infrastructure. Who do the Israelis expect to negotiate with if they kill all the spokespeople on the other side?
Why do Israel’s Palestinian neighbours not like them? Perhaps because the Israeli’s, apeing the politics of the 1930′s, behave like a regional master race!
I think it is time that Israel re-examines the racist dogma which are inherent to Zionism. It is hard to see any hope of peace when a country made up largely of recent incomers (with a high proportion from Eastern Europe and Russia) continues to be driven by supremacist racism. How can a people who have such a tragic history show so little understanding for their neighbours?
The best friends that Israel can have will be those that tell Israel the truth. That they cannot continue to imprison a whole Paletinian population within the West bank and Gaza. They cannot continue to seek regional domination aided by the threat of Israeli weapons of mass destruction. They cannot continue to regard the seas and airspace around Gaza as being available for unrestricted Israeli military activity. If they do, there can never be peace, and heaven help us all.
At present the two state solution appears virtually dead.
Perhaps we need to move on and accept a single secular federal state for Israel-Palestine with full respect for religeous freedom, and, perhaps, with recognition of religeous law within local communities as determined democratically within those communities?

Neither nation can be view as “the aggressor” because both are aggressive, but for different reasons. Tell us the details- all of them, without trying to lead people by the nose.

And anyone with two brain cells to rub together can tell that Hamas rockets are utterly indiscriminate, at least israelis are attempting to hit military targets. If they were actually interested in slaughtering Palestinian civilians, they are not nearly as effective at it as their military industrial complex would allow them to be. Look at the way Assad is hitting *his own* cities with *his own* people in them. Now look at how Israel hits Palestinian targets, in cities full of people that, if they all disappeared, Israel’s life would be easier. They could easily be reckless like Assad. That doesn’t make civ casualties less sad; but it does bring into question implications about the IDF’s conduct.

As far as Hamas, the fact that they shot a rocket at Jerusalem, of all places, shows how out of touch they are with reality. I thought maybe a renegade brigade of some kind did it at first (I hear there are lots of “Do It Yourselfers” in Palestine). But then Hamas claims credit? What an incredibly stupid thing to do. I hope Muslims everywhere in the world take note that Hamas is even willing to shell one of their holy cities for military gain. Palestinians should take care that, in trying to achieve their political goals, they do not destroy them in the process.

Gee, what a surprise! Gaza Konzentrationslager’s tenants are rioting. They don’t appreciate many of their own and their kinfolk’s homes are bulldozed down to make space for the ever expanding Jewish settlements, they are chased off their land, their precious water is stolen by Zionist illegal settlers. Didn’t once upon a time in Warsaw ghetto they also rise up against overwhelming forces?

Israel has gone too far. The USA and the UN can no longer tolerate this dangerous, rogue state possessing nuclear weapons, to wage aggressive war on its weak neighbors.

Oh, wait, it’s somehow OK if the Jews do all that stuff.

What is going on in this world? Why people don’t know how to live side by side in peace? There will be no “winner or loser” in this war. What will people of Israel and Gazans get by the end of the day? The only things, they will get are destruction and loss of innocent lives, especially innocent children whose lives were cut short because of those stupid and blood hungry leaders. Those leaders claim to love and protect their own people, if so, they all should open communication and try to find resolutions peacefully, each needs to compromise so their people can live in peace and prosperity. Their own people do not have to live in fear from day to day. Please let the innocent people and children live, I am deeply sorry and heartbroken to see small children died this way. They didn’t have a chance to see the world longer, their lives cut short because of those blood hungry leaders. Those leaders, each has enough blood on their hands, enough is enough, the UN and the world must come together to stop the bloodshed peacefully. It does not have to be war in order to solve the problem. There are a lot of ways to solve problem without shedding blood on each other; revenge will not solve the problem, if one keeps revenging, when it is going to end? Revenge will never end and will get nothing in return besides bloodshed. Let find the solution and making peace so all people can live better lives, life is so precious. Therefore, The world must act now to stop bloodshed and to save innocent lives. The world must bring those leaders to the negotiation table so they can find peaceful resolution, the world must not take side, if taking side, each will expect someone would back them up, then war will not be ended.

this entire thing is gross. the time line shows that israel threw the first attack. go back further they have always thrown the first attack. gaza is cornered in. they are low on food and water. not allowed to fish in their own waters. children dieing on both sides. people just wanting to live on both sides. why does israel continue the palistinian apartheid and the take over of their land if they claim to want peace?
if this goes to war like it seems to be then gaza doesn’t have a chance. even if new democracies such as egypt come in defense of them.
i fear the u.s is going to get involved on the wrong side. israel is lucky we don’t hold them to the same standards we hold the rest of the middle east. i think it is time we do. how many weapons of mass destruction do they have and why won’t they let us have a look?

The lie: “Israel has the capability to easily intercept any missiles headed its way.”

The truth: Israel only has 4 IronDome batteries – a 5th one is being delivered tonight. These batteries cannot cover the entire threat area. No system is perfect in intercepting anyway.

The lie: “So why are they allowing a few to get through ? Here are some hints.” And then a whole bunch of stuff…

The truth: Since the Israelis have a limited number of IronDome batteries, they have to move those batteries around according to the threat assessment at the time. This creates the occasional cracks in the defence. Of the 500+ rockets fired yesterday, 150 were targeting cities. Of these 26 got through.

Nice going EthicsIntl… people are dying on both sides, and you use this event as an opportunity to showcase your petty hatred.

Let me enlighten you then.
If you are referring to Semites then read about the history of Europe and you will come to realize that people living where today Israel is are not Semites but Ashkenazi Jews that arrived to that part of the world fro mwhere Germany is today. This anti-Semitism b.b. was created by Zionists to enslave 300 million American taxpayers and their evangelists to support Israel no matter what. It worked a treat. Go under any bridge in US and you will find Americans sleeping in carton boxes while their politicians are pumping billions into Israel. Also, Torah is Jewish holy book which you are obviously not aware of and it expressly forbids Jews from having their own state. There are hundreds of thousands of Jews protesting against the very existence of the state of Israel but you are not supposed to know that as Zionist owned media will not allow you to know that so that you can post uneducated questions on public websites. Here is some further reading:

Google Ortodox Jews Oppose State Israel, that will enlighten you for sure.

Inspired by his own creativity, he then went on to write:

Utter rubbish! And to start that with “Let me enlighten you then” must be the most classic line ever penned here.

a little off topic, bur the example fits. my ancestors came from Ireland 200 years ago. I still have a strong Irish name and My family crest is in the archives in Ireland. I am an American, born and raised in the usa, as was my father. But We can still consider Ireland Our Homeland. IE The displaced jews who returned to Israel are still the legitimate occupants of their homeland.
Ponder that VincentVery.
Oh yeah by the way, There was never ever a country of Palestine, there is no such thing as a Palestinian Homeland. The arabs stole the land from the Jews. Go Home Occupiers

“The siren that sounded in Jerusalem stunned many Israelis”. That was really very important to mention, well before the “16 Palestinian civilians killed, including 8 children and 1 pregnant woman”.
Professional and neutral journalism. With 2 featured photos of Israeli women in a state of panic after hearing the sirens. How about the Palestinian mothers who actually lost their children in this Israeli offensive? no pictures of them? or they weren’t “stunned” enough for you Reuters?
