In fact, the problem is much bigger than that. Worldwide demand is constricted due to worldwide debt (government and private) and demand continues to be constricted due to the dramatic loss of worldwide wealth that occurred during the Collapse of 2007.

There is no simple, rapid-acting solution to the debt problem, thus those excessive levels of debt will weigh on economies for some time to come.
