The article reads, “The war costs Latin America’s fourth-largest economy…large tracts of arable land unsafe due to combat or landmines.”

Any legitimate Colombian Marxist rebel entity would have been wiped out decades ago, along with tens of thousands of innocent civilians, as we’ve witnessed the last fifty years in other South American nations. So how did FARC manage to survive all these decades?

FARC is a front for the Colombian/American governments. Its existence is necessary to order to allow for those large arable lands to be unsafe, thereby making the affected lands safe for drug production.

Correction to my comment above: Should read:

“Its existence is necessary in order to allow for those large arable lands to be unsafe, thereby making the affected lands safe for drug production.”
