The longer the Fed keeps interest rates at near zero the longer the economy will languish. They don’t seem to understand the ‘side effects’ of this policy, such as loss of income to retirees who would be spending this money and ‘stimulating’ the economy and the income taxes that they would be paying, and how banks are being starved of income due to the low spreads in interest rates. This is a very stupid policy in my opinion and will destroy the country if it continues.
