In California, years ago, deregulation of electricity utilities resulted in soaring electricity costs, frequent blackouts, and ultimately the recall of the Governor Gray Davis. Whatever any country does, don’t repeat the mistake of California.
Deregulation of telephone providers, on the other hand, was a huge success. The breaking up of the big telephone monopolies resulted in lower prices and better services. A different kettle of fish.
