U.N. talks seen falling short despite climate change fears

Let’s test this before we ruin what little economies are left…..
Let’s cut all funding, public and private, to all the climate alarmists clanging the bells for 12 months. Then, just wait…to see if it’s still a problem without the payoff to the AGW religion. Earth can wait another year. It’s waited for many years and got colder since 2000 so AGW had to change their name….

Wanna bet “climate change” is horribly effected by grants and funding?

Let’s not get our panties in a bunch. The MET Office recently confirmed there has been no significant warming in 16 years.

China is more effective now than the U.N. for combatting climate change.

I’ll take that bet, NC10. Your “climate alarmists” are dedicated scientists that are a lot smarter than you are. Humans are funny animals, capable of complete avoidance and denial until they’re forced to face an issue. The psychology of “Why should I do anything about the problem if my neighbor doesn’t” will continue to paralyze the human race until it’s far too late to do anything about global warming. We’ve already witnessed the tipping point for many organisms, and that’s just a small preview of the changes that are coming.

@WillHolder: Actually, the Met Office told the reporter from the Daily Mail that the same data he was using to show no warming over sixteen years ALSO showed significant warming over fourteen years, that their measurements show that the globe has in fact been warming over the past 140 years, and that while the globe is warming, it is not unusual for there to be 15-year periods that do not show warming.

@NC10T: So, you’re saying that we should stop measuring the temperature of the Earth, because if we measure it we might have to do something that conflicts with your economic doctrine? Ask China how well Lysenkoist agriculture worked out, then tell me again why we should follow the line that People’s Liberation Army cadres have been quietly pushing instead of the advice given by scientists.

Actually Pendant, the assertions that a 15 year period without warming are not unusual are simply the latest spin. Climate scientists have been saying for years that it would take a 15 year span to confirm any change in their outlook. Now that we’re there they want to assert that 15 years isn’t significant.
Yes, we have been warming since the end of the LIA but this is to be expected. The fact is we haven’t been warming for 16 years and this should produce some doubt in any reasonable person that our CO2 emissions have any significant role in climate change.

Yes anonomouser, humans are capable of avoidance even when presented with the facts – like the fact there has been no warming in 16 years. How long will you be in denial?
