This is actually a very reasonable view of geoengineering – don’t rely on it, don’t encourage it, and withold judgement until there is more data. Research should be allowed to get that data. The risks, costs, and benefits can’t be properly estimated without step by step experimentation.

Shame on you. Would you not study how to counter a medical epidemic for fear that you might uncover undesirable side effects???
