Wow, what happened to cutting defense spending? It needs to be cut. We spend way too much on defense. We can’t afford $631 billion on defense or anything else. Defense contractors are bribing this one through. And if any Democrat stood up and said it’s too much, they’d be attacked by Republicans for being weak on national security and wanting to cut funding for our soldiers in harms way in Afghanistan. The sad thing is that it works.

Wow is right – the military-industrial complex gets what it wants yet again. This is an end-around on the defense cut portion of the sequestor (financial cliff), and yet another capitulation to the K Street crowd. Why would Dems give up one of their most effective negotiating items at this point? 98-0 vote is a shameful picture of how broken our congress is. We can’t afford $631B Period !

A measure included in the bill would require U.S. defense contractors that work on classified programs to notify the government if their computer networks are breached.

“It would also require the Pentagon to consult lawmakers if it decides to elevate U.S. Cyber Command to a full unified combatant command, on the same footing as its parent Strategic Command and the Defense Department’s eight other top-level military units”

How many different agencies and high ranks are we creating, nothing has altered since 1799, the same old fill your pockets of off the taxpayer game.

This bill does nothing to stop the indefinite detention and torture of American citizens. The U.S. has crossed the line into a dictatorship. Every single Senator who voted for this bill should be tried for High Treason.
