So let me get this straight.
Islamic women cannot allow anything to show except their eyes or they will be stoned to death, but they can blow up and murder innocent people including children and be heros.
Now that makes real sense to me. Now that’s what I call a great religion of peace.

“…LaRose typed the Shahada and converted to Islam via instant messenger.”

I wonder if she follows Mohammed on twitter as well.

Interesting insights.
Reuters could do more of these “magazine” type articles – such as the nuances of background biographies – as well as the “new media” video and social network links.
One of the things I liked about the Financial Times ft.com, before they put me on the wrong side of their paywall, was a recognition that serving up more extensive text from the website was not a big cost, so there was analysis and essays from Foreign or Finance Ministers or major economic players, academic experts etc.
Once there was Julius Reuters doing handwritten notes for carrier pigeon, then a few dozen characters for telegraph newswires, then journalist column inches for all the costs of newsprint distribution, then now.

I think that this is a desperate case of brainwash by terrorists, but the fact of brainwashing her through the muslim religion can not bring islam as a religion to the context of terrorism. We can not blame Christianity as a religion just because a sick minded person like Breivik killed so many innocents, it is totally irrelevant in my opinon. I think that the root of most problems is the social background, childhood culture and of course (even if not the case here) the economic situation.

In case you missed she just had a 7th grade education here in US that means “jack squat” in terms of eductaion. This woman is just plain psychotic. She should have named herself “burkha bane”.

It could be an interesting case of someone back-firing against the relentless propaganda and brain-washing of the mainstream press with its continuous Islamaphobia (I’m sure Muslim countries have similar hog-wash to wade through too). And it proves there’s always someone out there who can be picked up and sent off to destroy others and themselves. This lady’s probably just one of thousands of them.
Interesting times we live in.

“But some civil rights advocates say the U.S. government has exaggerated the danger posed by aspiring terrorists – in this case and scores of others.

‘You can’t say these people are totally innocent – they aren’t, and there’s something wild and scary about them – but almost all of them seem to be incompetent and deluded in some way,’ said Ohio State University professor John Mueller, who has written extensively about how the government has handled terrorism cases. ‘When you look closely, many of these cases become interestingly cartoonish.’”

How absurd! Of course these jihadists are deluded. Who in their right mind would vow to die and travel across the Atlantic to kill an artist she didn’t know. Just because she didn’t do it well THIS TIME, doesn’t mean she isn’t dangerous. Ask anyone in Israel who has survived a suicide bombing.

As I understand, the use of “martyr” is for someone who doesn’t WANT to give their life but will rather than disavow their religious beliefs (i.e. those given the choice of death or submission to Islam and who choose the former). In that case, using the word “martyr” here is: giving the idiot’s ideas credit, discrediting Islam as no religion (let alone one of peace), and/or providing aid and comfort to others with similar ambitions. Sorry about her horrible upbringing but that doesn’t mean she can kill at-will. This attention starved brat is no martyr…just a plain old psychotic attempted murderer.
