With $600 hammers, coffee pots that can fly upside down while brewing coffee, gold plated toilette seats, (C-5 Galaxy Heavy Lifter) and .50cal M-2 machine guns that can fire nuclear rounds, the Pentagon purchasing department and their generals have taken the manufacturing side of the “Military Industrial Complex” to the financial woodshed one too many times. With all of the forward procured priority assets in the pipeline (F-35, New Refueling tankers) they have lost the gilding effect of the cost plus Military Arms Contracts of the last 40 years. Now they want the hardware suppliers to not only DESIGN Star Wars type features into the new aircraft but they want them to shoulder the hidden cost of design/development/manufacturing with these absurd MAX bid RFP’s. You can only go to the well so many times folks…OR, is the Pentagon taking note of the latest Obama electorate expectations and trying to get someone else to pay for their “stuff”?

Darrow…for the Prosecution
