Apple’s market share is always slipping globally. It’s not unusual for a company to lose market share to hundreds of companies with various levels of quality selling cheaper goods. A freely licensed OS such as Android will even be too much for a company like Microsoft offering a low-cost license that tries to offer some sort of control over products. So, yeah, Apple is losing market share and will continue to do so for quite a few years. That won’t necessarily impact Apple’s growth to any major extent because Android devices’ growth is driven mainly by consumers who can’t afford iPhones. Wall Street has theory that only companies selling dirt cheap products can survive. That reasoning honestly doesn’t hold true. Weeding-out of companies even occurs at a low price level.
