We reap what we sew……….

We idolize guns and military, tolerate continuing wars, produce more violent video games each year, encourage the goriest of movies and endless TV shows concentrating on the minutiae of the most violent crimes during so called “family hours”…..

We tolerate ALL this negative attitude and behavior in the name of “freedom of speech” and creativity, business “creating jobs” and any other possible excuse for profit….

We have raised a generation or two of desensitized young people and we are shocked and surprised when it hits home???????

What the hell do you expect. Profit is the underlieing motive in so many aspects that it trumps common sense and self control. Who buys and lavishes this stuff on the kids? The parents are the enablers and in many cases too lazy or stupid to pay attention to what is going on under their noses. Many of these same parents are themselves dysfunctional on so many levels…socially and physically (prescription drug addictions and street drugs)

You can deny it all you want and start putting political labels on actions and comments about the situatioin but the fact remains that we tolerate more and more of this behavior daily.

Why does an average citizen need access to automatic weapons of any kind? Is there a logical explanation or just another tired 2nd ammendment argument?

Ratings of video games took a hell of an argument by the “industry”. Why? Profits were at stake.

These are life quality issues…………wake up, grow up and pay attention….it may already be too late…..we have a s-l-o-w learning curve.

@jarocca, ‘just another tired 2nd Amendment argument’?

The 2nd Amendment is part of “JUST” the Bill of Rights of the People, and Constitution created as contract between States and ultimately the People of this Nation for the formation of a peaceful Union. If we The People want to make changes to the Constitution and the second amendment, let’s do that, and by the mechanisms we have agreed upon to use. The entire Constitution, and Union, is weakened, by this policy that branches of Government overlook the parts they happen not to agree with because of profit and pandering to furore.

The right has been losing moderates by mandating unconstitutional law based on their irrational reactionary fears and now the left pushes them back with more of the same.
