In the least, let’s hope this ‘(non)event’ sparks the imaginations of young people in studying and understanding the history (including its sad as well as idiotic approaches to events) of our world. Knowledge is power.

DwDunphy,

Star Wars and manboys are most highly correlated and in fact there’s good reason to believe there’s a strong causal link as well..

This could be an awesome Darwin event. Tons of people drinking the Koolaid and jumping off cliffs. The world should support these wack jobs in their goals rather than coddle them to possibly breed more wack jobs. Support their END GOALS!!!

The Maya did see the Spanish coming, they predicted it down to the day. They also knew it signaled their end.

I prefer to use “Mayan,” as the adjectival form. “Maya apocalypse” sounds too much like “Maya Angelou.”

It gets me confused. Now I can’t stop thinking about how there are only two days left in the Maya Angelou Long Count Poetry Advent Calendar.

@d.miller – They did. The Spanish arrived at the end of a katun so the Mayan were expecting something.

Some bad reporting here. The synopsis for the next Star Wars movie is most definitely under wraps, and if it *were* actually known would be quite the breaking news by itself.

The author of this piece seems to have googled for random star wars book series, picked one, and decided for Disney what they’re going to film…and then also decide for them that they will be using the imagery of the location that this piece is about.
