If found guilty, then he needs to be punished to the fullest extent of the law, but the death penalty? How is murdering yet another person justice for the people he killed? It will not bring them back to life; it will not fill the empty void due to those lost souls in the lives of the victims’ families. The Death Penalty, as in all cases, is all about Revenge, not Justice; and as a rational society, we know that Revenge just leads to more Revenge, in a never-ending cycle.

Let Bales face justice, not revenge.

Most certainly he should face the death penalty…. right behind Bush and Chaney and Obama, respectively, for the invasion of Iraq, for Guantanamo, and for drone warfare.

If he is found guilty, then yes, he deserves the death penalty. Killed 14 people in cold blood? What would we say to a terrorist who bombs a US grocery store and killed 14 cilivians and we prove it? Same thing. But we’d better be able to prove guilt and hopefully not some PTSD issue. Even then I don’t see giving him a free ride IF guilty.
