“Are we at last brought to such humiliating and debasing degradation, that we cannot be trusted with arms for our defense? Where is the difference between having our arms in possession and under our direction, and having them under the management of Congress? If our defense be the real object of having those arms, in whose hands can they be trusted with more propriety, or equal safety to us, as in our own hands?”

The NRA are starting to sound like hardline no surrender armed to the teeth militants. To whit:

“Any treaty that includes civilian firearms ownership in its scope will be met with the NRA’s greatest force of opposition,” Wayne LaPierre

“Continue to fight. We enjoy grassroots support. Collaborators cannot survive.” Muammar Gaddafi

We need many more global initiatives like this. Though it may fail, or have no teeth, it is a move in the right direction. I’m actually proud of our country for this one.

It’s hard not to remain skeptical of the UN’s ability to limit arms exports. If anything it would only add a premium to the price of illicit arms sales.

The United States should back out of the UN Gun Control. How can the US government justify this unbelieve act since the US government has already has conspiracy written on its face dealing with the Fast and Furious Gun business dealing with various types of weapons such as shotguns, assault weapons to the Mexican drug dealers across the US/Mexican border that was used to kill two American government employees. The US delegates to the UN need to take a good hard look at what they are going to be involved with. It is bad enough weapons sold to various Arab countries wound up in the hands of the terrorists/extremists. The UN original purpose was to stop conflicts. So far it has failed in every count. It is time for the USA to pull out of the UN and have the UN move to a different country.
