No employer should be allowed to have anyone’s password for any social network account, that is just wrong. What someone does on their own free time is no ones business including an employer.

The practice should be ringing alarm bells at all levels of government including Washington. If the state legislatures won’t act then Washington should make the practice illegal nationwide.
