Even when a republican is picked by the president the republicans find a problem with the appointee. I liked this guy before and still think he would be an excellent choice.

Hagel was one of the early critics of Bush’s epic boondoggle in Iraq. A trillion dollars down the hole, 4,000 U.S. service lives lost…. for what? To get rid of a dictator we could have just assassinated? Hagel saw this early on. That makes him one of the few republican politicians to have any common sense. I think he’s a good pick for this job.

That is it President Obama, ensure your nomination gets approved by nominating the same guy Mitt Romney would have nominated if he’d won the election.

If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck then it must be a duck. So what is that entity called where a noisy but negligible minority composed mostly by gays and Israel friendly perhaps dual citizen professional lobbyists can effectively decide for the silent majority how to run one of the greatest countries ever? Among other labels, it is called undemocratic foreign dictatorship.
