Platform-free oil in Arctic waters within striking distance
Notice how the big bad oil company is willing to spend BILLIONS of dollars on this technology. Why you ask?
Because it is economically viable.
This is the kind of energy “Investing” we need to look into, not the pipe dream of “Green” energy powered by hopes and unicorns.
Certainly we will have to deal with a dwindling supply of oil and natural gas, but that time isn’t now. So throwing hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars at solar or wind or whatever when it is not a viable product is madness.
If we can stall alternatives, these new oil production techniques will be really profitable for the oil companies. Sure, they aren’t cheap, and oil won’t be cheap, in fact, it’s likely that gasoline will continue to increase in price. However, without something else, we will be forced to pay whatever the oil company price is, and that will be very very profitable for the oil companies. We love them too, and will even send our best and bravest to die on foriegn ground for the oil that they sell. My advise to those who only care about money is to invest in oil companies and then get out here on the blogs and promote oil.
