This is to be expected because 2012 was the hottest year on record for the lower 48 in the US, according to NOAA. That problem follows the drought, fires, and heat in 2011. This confirms that the US, Mexico, Africa, the Middle East, India, and Australia are becoming polluted deserts. Check out the droughts in the other regions and the wildfires in Mexico and Australia.

Fortunately, China has had a massive irrigation project in progress since 2001 that moves excess water from the south and east coasts that is not needed and moves it via pipelines, tunnels, canals, and pumping stations to lakes, reservoirs, canals, rivers, and streams in western and central provinces that need the water. They add land reclamation that has increased arable land from 7% of China in 1993 to nearly 17% by 2011. China reached its grain production targets for 2020 in 2011, 9 years early, and it sold food to the US in 2011 and 2012 owing to the problems in the US. China donated food to some countries that suffered disasters and food emergencies in 2011 and 2012.

My partners and I have added warehouse farms in cities that use numerous technologies to raise food production by a factor of 75 or 7500%. One element filters and cleans city air and uses city CO2 to raise food. Our fresh fruits, vegetables, and grains don’t need transportion to cities because they are grown in cities. 2 million of these farms, 4,000 per China’s 500 biggest cities, would double China’s food supply and make substantial reductions in pollution. The land area per farm is 1 hectare (2.5 acres). 4,000 farms would use 4 square kilometers or 1.53 square miles for each of the 500 cities.

Russia also benefits from global warming because it melts the Siberian tundra allowing more agriculture, water, livestock, poultry, and timber to develop in addition to oil, gas, mining, and industry. The main advantage is that by 2020 to 2025, China and Russia will dominate the world’s food supply and can gain advantages in relations with the countries that want to eat. My partners and I are helping develop this successful situation for China and Russia.
