France studies new tax measures on web giants

France is steadily returning itself to the Dark Ages.

Government just doesn’t have a clue. I wonder how much money France takes in now that people can Google individual wineries and buy French wine via the internet? How many small companies in France are now selling via the internet in an Amazon store?
The French government makes plenty off Google and Amazon – they are just too stupid to figure it out.

Socialists just cant stop. They are always looking for a way to tax the people. Did they ever think that government spending less, leaves more money in the pockets of the people. That’s the way to create jobs and expand economies.

Why is it when a company wants money it is greeedy and ill-gotten, but when a government wants money it is just taking “its fair share”?

When did the government start writing the narrative for what is fair and what is not, and why the heck do people think that is a smart way to go?

The French should simply raise the breathing tax and the air levy. They can also increase the urination fee and the digestion surcharge.

Just like Obama said, “you didn’t breathe on your own without the government there would be no air to breathe nor place to pee.”

If Google, Facebook, et.al. just blocked France from their servers, how much would they actually lose in a global market? My guess is very little.

@minfxbg – given the number of Muslim immigrants that France has allowed in, it’s not at all surprising. I’m just curious how long after the pyramids are destroyed that it will take to burn down the Louvre and dismantle the Eiffel Tower.

This can’t go on much more…these French socialists just simply don’t understand how money works today. Depardieu was the prototype. Now if can just get Google, Amazon, and Mocrosoft to flip this government the bird and cease operating there for a few weeks, France will collapse. A month without Google could ruin your whole day and cause this government to resign…. As Ned Beatty so aptly put it in the movie Network many years ago… “Mr. Hollande, you have meddled with the primal forces of nature!”
