Golden Globe win worth millions more than Oscar victory: data

As the Oscar cares more about huge box office winners than it does about quality films, Oscar winners are already big box office stars that have mostly maxed out on ticket sales ahead of the awards. Contrary to that, Globe winners may be smaller, more personal films that will benefit more from publicity in added ticket sales, thus the stats are surely correct in showing Globe winners aided more at the box office by winning than the Oscar winners are.

This is even more interesting because the Oscars get far more Television viewers than do the Golden Globes as well as additional media attention and reporting. I would like to see this comparison in the light that (by my estimates) the Oscars are seen by more than three times the number of people. Am I wrong?

I checked recent TV audience ratings and find the Oscars get 2 to 3 times the total audience. It is indeed interesting that the Golden Globes may be more effective improving box office in the light of fewer viewers.
