I bet when this poor bastard walked into a military recruiting office in his local home town strip mall, the lying SOB recruiter never warned him he’d end up here on death row.

Probably told him he’d never see action, he’d be some rear echelon mofo, and all he had to do was coast through his tour, and he’d get a full paid college scholarship at the end. And if he did see action, he could do his proud patriotic duty like others from a long line of military tradition. Invade third world countries and kill gooks and slant eyes… in the name of democracy.

“So, does this mean I’m not getting money for college?”

Sgt. Bales served multiple tours and was quite likely not given thorough medical and psych exams before being sent back for each tour. The US Army is also at fault here for failing to insure that this man was fit for combat. In addition his commanding officers bear some responsibility
since it was their duty to supervise his actions.

When you train people to be good murderers, guess what you get. Oh right, we’re supposed to praise State sanctioned murder and renounce it otherwise.
