Clean, fresh water is FAR more important than oil. You can’t drink oil. You can’t grow crops on oil.

I assume you ride a horse or bicycle and do not use petroleum based products. If not don’t you think you lack sincerity?

Obama won’t allow this to happen. Warren Buffett’s Burlington Northern railroad stands to make too much money transporting that oil. He’ll deny it for ecological reasons, the left will praise him, but in the end, it’s about money, and fooling fools.

Here’s the thing. They’re already producing the tar sands oil. They’re already selling it. The one and only reason to build this pipeline is to bring it to the refineries in Texas for sale on the *global* market. That oil is not going to stay in the USA. Much of it will go overseas. So what’s more important, clean fresh water or canadian oil company profits?

Does it really make sense to ship oil from Canada to Houston, so they can export the oil? It would be one thing if the oil was used to power the US. But the majority will be exported.

Just build it anyway. The States agree so challenge the Feds and just build it. Stop the liberal agenda now.

In shipping terms, it does. What TransCanada wants is easy access to Pacific and Atlantic markets. That means Texas; it’s close to the Panama Canal, and there are already many refineries there that can handle the tar sands oil.

Failing that, they want Pacific access, which is why they’ve been threatening an alternate, cross Canada pipeline to Vancouver, trying to ‘blackmail’ the USA by saying ‘Look at all these temporary construction jobs you’ll be losing!’

I agree with Burns and Speaker, This pipeline is designed for accumulating the refining of the oil in Texas near ports to be sold on the World market. Also by design, all responsibility for the protection of the pipeline, and substantial risks, are placed upon the American Public, and all benefits concentrated into Corporate pockets.
