That is great UN leadership on solving that conflict. High level UN supervision is critical. There is no excuse to continue foolish rebellions in DRC in this century when DRC is on path to democratisation. There will be elections in few years, UN can ensure the elections are free and fair and winner leads like was done in Ivory Cost. The rebels have no reason, other than greed, to keep terrorising the population and allow for plunder by their allies that give them arms or traffic minerals illegally. Also the incompetence or malfunction of the DRC government needs to be tacked head on. A UN mandated force that can tackle those elements that keeps causing mayhem is a very welcome development. Such groups represent themselves, mislead the youth and have no use for anyone else other than few warlords that benefit from the plunder or blood minerals.
