One thing that we have learned, anything proposed by the Obama administration needs to be viewed with a bit of speculation. As we’ve seen before, Obama cannot be trusted to put America first.

Eliminating waste and corruption must top the list if we are going to catch up to the rest of the world in terms of costs. This is a much needed step forward.

Two thumbs up

This is a pleasant surprise, but I expect new laws emerge which could be even worse.

Elect me as President. My first effort would be to cut government size and number of laws in half – each year.

He is starting his fifth year in office and is just now looking at the regulations? That is something that should have been begun the first year.

@Curly, it did begin in his first year, just because you do not know about it does not mean it not happening. Obama has always been very consistent on the need for reducing/removing regulations that serve no good purpose.

@NCMAN, actually it is quite the opposite, Obama has always had the greater good in mind, and the greater good is what benefits American the most. Not being subservient to some corporate overlords.

How about saving us the patient – tax payer some money instead? I don’t see that many hospitals loosing money but it sounds like Obama has figured out a way so they’ll make more profits than they are.

$3.4 Billion in savings over 5 years is nothing to shake a stick at FrankOtheMT. Think about it, this is the savings from eliminating a few obsolete laws. Think of how much could be saved by getting rid of the rest of our useless laws.

And to fortinjeff, where do you think the money comes from that funds Medicare? By cutting red tape and improving efficiency, it can only help keep patient expenses in check.
