He would have been grilled regarding his “sexting” with the Florida “socialite” who helped bring down Patreus.

He will now get a job with a big defence contractor and make himself rich. No family illness to blame here. Just greed. He was a pawn to Karzai and put more of our troops in danger by his capitulation to rules of engagement that favored the enemy.

Good ridance.

The retiring general is now compassionately interested in the health of his slightly ill wife when not long ago he was sending hundreds of erotic emails to a married temptress in Florida. The Benghazi scandal is downing another guy in the know.

Don’t know what the Benghazi debacle has to do with this, but it’s a GOP requirement to link all current events to it. General Allen is a pompous ass, and deserves to have his image tarnished for his errors. Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely, without fail. Send him and his ilk out to pasture with all the other old testoterone challenged “boys”, and lets turn the military over to the women; they would end the wars quicker and with much less loss of lives or money.

General Allen made the moral choice, and I have no doubt that his wife’s autoimmune problems will improve from TLC and less stress, although I wonder if the VA pays for biological drugs like Humira, Enbrel and the new one for severe psoriasis. If not expect General Allen to get a different job in the private sector very soon.

Yes I can see how lies, hypocrisy, smear, fear, deceit and corruption is so much better than an occasional mispelled word. Oh wait, no I cannot.

The next several years are going to be tough on the military, there will be cuts in commands, reductions-in-force for uniform troops, including the combat veterans this guy has led, and deep cuts in contractors. This guy is getting out at the last good moment, and made a good call, regardless of the venom and stupidity expressed here.

I smell more stink on this guy coming down the road.
He got out while the gettin was good.
I would bet Obama suggested he retire based on something we have yet to find out about.
That’s why he retired.
So stay tuned, and – wait for it, wait for it, wait for it…..
there it is! (or will be soon)
