The Dems should take a censure vote against Cruz for reprehensible conduct, bringing the Senate into dishonor and disrepute.

Chuck Hagel is a 2 tour decorated purple heart Viet Nam vet. He is a former Secy of the Navy. He is a long serving Senator that was on the select committee on intelligence. This wingnut Cruz had the audacity on the Senate floor to call Hagel a traitor. He has disgraced himself and the body.

Cruz’s actions speak widely and loudly of what the Republican party has become. They dis-honor themselves, the process of our government, and will turn on each other to get a few more moments in front of a TV camera. If this country stumbles and falls, which is apparantly exactly what the Republicans want, in their effort to get rid of or at least nullify President Obamas efforts, it will ALL be on their shoulders. It’ a shame in a way that the respectful nature of our governmental processes is perverted by these thugs. If I had my way Cruz would be ejected from the chamber, forcibly if required.

JamesChirico – Could not have said it better myself. As a Texan, I am embarrassed by this guy. He thinks and acts like he’s still an attorney in a courtroom. He will ultimately flame-out after having inadvertently set himself on fire, because he is so absorbed with himself and “making an impact.”

The Republican Party has strayed from its small-government roots, become the party of the religious right and fractured along those lines. Its time has passed.

Anyone who is truly in favor of smaller government would be a Libertarian by now. When Libertarians say smaller government, they mean less intrusion into private life (i.e., the government does not sanction relationships nor provide benefits to one kind and not another) and less swiping of the National Debit Card (i.e., less taxation and borrowing) since so many redundant and unnecessary departments and agencies would cease to exist.

Interesting. I don’t recall though that Senator Boxer expressed the same concerns when Senator Reid from the floor of the Senate accused Mitt Romney of not paying his taxes with absolutely no evidence to suggest that was true and in fact it isn’t. Also reminiscent of some bad times by her definition it seems. But no outrage over that.
