She should really take a look at all the new measures Putin has put in place over the last year and re-evaluate her “victory”. The way I see it, all their little stunt achieved was some muted protests from foreign governments, which only helped back up Putin’s claims of foreign interference, and gave him a further excuse to crack down on dissent even further. Brilliant thinking ladies! Truly inspired! Maybe next you can do a naked protest in Mecca and see how you strike a blow for women’s rights there

The accounts I read of this suggested that the Orthodox clergy of the Cathedral were more than willing to drop the charges if the band was willing to apologize for disturbing the peace. Why didn’t the band perform outside?

I doubt there is a private or religious group that would put up with a Pussy riot style protest here or in any other country. I can’t think of any, anyway? Even West Lake Baptist Church was willing to scrupulously observe setbacks for their very disgusting protests.

Separation of Church and state doesn’t mean politicians don’t also talk to them. They are voters, after all! The Church is effectively Private property in a true separation of church and state. They clergy had the right to call the police.

It has always been traditional that a church, Mosque, of Synagogue is not a place to celebrate issues “below the diaphragm” “and I mean the one under one’s lungs. If they’d tried that stunt in India – they might have been killed on the spot.

Come on girls, your candy isn’t that tasty and your message is very dubious.
