The banks should not just have been allowed to fail. They should have been forced to fail. Investors, not citizens, should have taken all of the losses.

It would have been terribly painful, but investors take chances and receive rewards when they invest wisely. They should also take losses when their investments sour. The government has no right to pass on corporate losses to private citizens. It is morally wrong to expect citizens to make corporations whole.
