This is not prosperity. This is monetary inflation. Soon we will all be billionaires but have nothing.

Hmmm. 442 usa billionaires times 3.8 billion average equals 1.679 trillion. I got it, let’s have the government steal it all from the greedy rich. Then we can pay off this fiscal years deficit. One year of a balanced budget is better than none. Next year we’ll find 422 new billionaires to fleece….

@MisesMan, So you expect an actual increase in US incomes for 2012? Incomes of the lower brackets in 2011 rocketed all the way to near those of 2007. Inflation from 2011 to 2012 was about 2%.

You are right, it is not prosperity, it is robbery.

@ConstFundie, Nobody who does their own shopping believes that 2% number the government is giving us. Price inflation is running closer to 10% and when China, Japan, and the Saudis wake up to the fact that we plan to inflate our way out of our debt price inflation will get much worse.

@MisesMan I don’t think you need to worry that “soon we will all be billionaires but have nothing”. Rather, the trend is that soon we will all have nothing, but the 500 or 1000 people who are billionaires will have everything.

@kelpietull You fear for the welfare of the billionaires? You said that their assets will be taken by the U.S. government. Many are not U.S. residents nor do they owe taxes to the U.S. government. I don’t think you should be worried, that the “422 new billionaires will be fleeced”. They will not be exploited.
