The American army and all its Nato allies couldn’t defeat these basic warriors. If high tech is the answer, then it must have been a stupid question.

Here’s something to consider. The Taliban appear as everyday sorts of people in the area and not many are Taliban. So while it would be easy to carpet bomb whole villages and not leave any living thing in the wake of such simple destruction the attack would be by nature indiscriminant and bring the condemnation of the civilized world at least down on all our heads. And then there are our enemies who would take serious exception to our murderous rage and use our bad behavior to their advantage.

So yes we could with far less technological means blow the whole lot of them to hell and back but it would be in the end a campaign of our own undoing.

The good news is that these fellows are not living among us in the States or the UK or Europe so we can all breathe a sigh of relief while considering how best to annihilate these men in rags or at least blast them further back to the stone age than they already exist.

Don’t take too much comfort in that however because we do have those dreadful sleeper cells from Al Qaeda living among us and they are equipped with more sophisticated means by which to blow us back into the pre-industrial age bit by bit.

That being the case I very much prefer we let those rag wearing men blow what ever up they please while we concentrate our efforts on ferreting out the terror in our midst.

What say you lads?

Hell, why ARE we over there. I deployed twice there, and I still have no idea. Something about “nation building” or something..

Hope you will help rid us of PC thought so we can protect America in an intelligent, commonsense and inexpensive manner re Sun Tzu and Gen. Pershing:

Once in U.S. history an episode of Islamic terrorism was very quickly stopped. It happened in the Philippines about 1911, when Gen. John J. Pershing was in command of the garrison. There had been numerous Islamic terrorist attacks, so “Black Jack” told his boys to catch the perps and teach them a lesson.

Forced to dig their own graves, the terrorists were all tied to posts, execution style. The U.S. soldiers then brought in pigs and slaughtered them, rubbing their bullets in the blood and fat. Thus, the terrorists were terrorized; they saw that they would be contaminated with hogs’ blood. This would mean that they could not enter Heaven, even if they died as terrorist martyrs.

All but one was shot, their bodies dumped into the grave, and the hog guts dumped atop the bodies. The lone survivor was allowed to escape back to the terrorist camp and tell his brethren what happened to the others. This brought a stop to terrorism in the Philippines for the next 50 years.

Pointing a gun into the face of Islamic terrorists won’t make them flinch.

They welcome the chance to die for Allah. Like Gen. Pershing, we must show them that they won’t get to Muslim heaven (which they believe has an endless supply of virgins) but instead will die with the hated pigs of the devil.

With little to suggest a viable Afghan-only defense against the Taliban, it’s naive to think that the green-on-blue attacks won’t increase at a staggering rate.

The U.S. history of pulling out – then abandoning the “home-guard” – is guaranteed to leave the Afghan Army and police with a foregone survival resolve – collaboration with the Taliban.

Unlike the U.S. pullout from the Viet Nam War, the Taliban is unlikely to “let” the ‘coalition’ forces simply pack-up and leave. Conversely, there is almost a mandate to inflict maximum punishment on the U.S. troops in particular – whatever the cost – as insurance against the U.S. ever being tempted to make another boots-on-the-ground effort in the region; or elsewhere.

When the ‘coalition’ pullout time approaches, it would be no major ‘trick’ for the Taliban to mandate that the U.S. trained Afghan army mount serious attacks on the ‘coalition’ forces; as a price for the ‘convert’ soldiers (and their families) to be allowed to live.

As with the Russian defeat, the Afghans will be keen to block all exits. Unless at least one major airport can be effectively defended, our “pullout” could be bloodier than the entire war; on all sides.

It’s also worth the Taliban’s time to use whatever leverage they have on Pakistan, particularly violence, to deny any Pakistani pullout staging areas.

The only probable alternative would be a secret ‘deal’ to leave all U.S. military and civilian equipment, and a maximum of weaponry, behind – destined to later be used on Pakistan.

Unfortunately, whatever assets we leave behind, the bulk of them will ultimately be sold, particularly any weapons. In turn, it’s academic that many will later be used on U.S. soldiers – or citizens.

The unmentioned “great unknown” is the fate of the Afghan opium poppy fields. If the Taliban destroys those, the surge in the price of heroin in America will most likely bring on a huge crime wave, all over the USA; among other countries. The key battleground probably being along the U.S. – Mexico border.

Conversely, if the Taliban takes the opium fields as an asset, they will most likely fund any Jihad against America, in particular. With the 4-15 Boston bombings, the world knows that our security is a delusion.

Interesting times are ahead, one way or another.

Violence in all of the world that contain Muslim populations over 5 percent will never end, as Islam defines itself through sharia, and punishment. In the Dar al Harb, violence is a celebration earning victory, even over death to a Muslim. Aggression then, is a first response, not only to the kufar, but in answer to any dispute that can be twisted into a fight. So peace is difficult, because they raise their hand against everyone and then cry at the injustice when others defend themselves. Yet there is an answer to such anger that is found in a way a truth and a life that brings peace and redemption.
Pray then for open hearts that will find such peace through the grace of the God of Abraham.

However there are a few conditions: 1) You will not receive one dime of American financial aid for you OR your people from us for the next 25 years; 2) Any attempts to distribute your illegal drugs will result in harsh, decisive and repetitive military strikes until your beg for and end of said strikes; 3) Any attempts to strike out, join or co-join with other religious or military zealots beyond your borders will result in the same responses as outlined in #2, and lastly 4) Any Taliban sympathizers already in the U.S. may seriously opt to remove themselves from our shores as remaining here could be very detrimental to your continued good health.
