You can’t have peace talks with the Taliban, they can’t be trusted. Their only goal is to spread radical Islam to everyone.

I guess Karzai figured he’d milked and bilked the US out of enough money … for now.

US involvement delayed the inevitable and caused thousands of unnecessary deaths. And the country is still a shambles. (Of course, Karzai the Korrupt is rich.) In the words of Pete Seeger, “When will they ever learn?”

Afghans taking over their own security. Now there is a novel idea after 10,000 years of “civilazation”. The Iraqis seem to be doing quite well after our intervention there.

Go ahead Karzai, “lose your head” by cozying up to those who see you as a remaining symbol of their political humilation. Sure, they’ll forgive and forget. What about your people? Are you going to throw them under the bus and initiate the process that will return them to the brutality and suffering they suffered under these devils?

I wonder when we will find out how much (per year) the U.S. will have to pay the Taliban to keep the peace with Afghanistan.

Karzai’s troops may start deserting en masse. Their chances of survival are better, if the Taliban takes them in.

This may be a major turning point for the Afghan “war.” Obama may not have the luxury of time, when it comes time to pull U.S. forces out. The ‘new’ Afghan army may become more of a threat than the Taliban.
