Somali Islamist rebels attack U.N. base, 22 dead
“The al Qaeda-linked Islamist group al Shabaab claimed responsibility.”
Groups such as this are inextricably, linked and/or embedded within the so-called Free Syria Rebels who the West is so anxious to support.
When one considers that Great Britain and France are chomping at the bit to ship arms to the “Rebels” in Syria, one is challenged to believe what he sees, reads and hears.
And the icing on the cake, is that the French, Great Britain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar et al, after endless months of pressuring the US President to join the carnage, have succeeded in pushing Obama to announce he will now authorize the arming of the Rebels in Syria.
Anyone with a functioning brain understands that none of the above named countries gives a hoot in Hell about the long suffering people of Syria.
But their actions give me great cause to hope with all my heart that there is such a place as Hell- just waiting for those so-called world leaders who would make of Syria a killing ground of Biblical proportions to satisfy their own private, maniacal agendas.
Why won’t our leaders in the West admit that the world is embroiled in a religious war when the Muslims have no qualms in saying they are fighting a jihad. Or is this just a one sided war being fought?
This could get interesting. The UN has played with the idea of a ‘permanent’ army before; will this be a “stand?” If the UN can’t overcome the Somali pirates, they could be in for another surprise. A bunch of terrorists high on Khat make for a nasty foe.
Oh, somebody tell Obama; he thinks the terrorists are going away.

I believe the point is too minimize/localize the damage. In a world were international travel is common, sending supplies and weapons (sorry Sadudi and UAE have already armed those in Syria with russian AKs) means they don’t go elsewhere like the EU or US or Allah forbid to Mecca.
It’s quite obvious muslims (and muslims converts who joined to kill people not like them) are riled up and energized to go forth and slaughter. The “suppliers” in these rebellions are not the one suffering, because if you give a muslim an ak , some food, and permission to rape the women; they have no motivation to go elsewhere and will hopefully die where they are (BFE).

I did not know Assad (a muslim) was from the west-it is his “killing ground of Biblical proportions” complete with nerve gas. The “west” is on some trip about higher moral ground in response to the gas. That simple-on the surface. The idiot who claims to be a leader from behind started all this crap about the red line and was pushing the rest of the “west” to join him “from the front” to save face-his. Yesterday when some pretty definitive polls came out with 70-75% of Americans against any US involvement in Syria at all the coward back pedaled and the talks collapsed with Putin looking like the sole victor and the other G6 with obama crap on their faces. What the the whole thing boiled down to is the muslims in Syria get to keep on slaughtering each other without any intervention other than other muslims and Russia. Hey I am in on that. Do the same thing in Somalia. obama accomplished what he does best. All parties involved are fighting each other and he is off to Africa with his family on a 10 million dollar vacation. No problem, make them spend it in Mogadishu, and they can keep the plane. Adds a whole new meaning to the phrase “Black Hawk Down” doesn’t it? Again 70-75% of the American people are fed up with this whole muslim thing and want no more to do with it in Syria of anywhere else especially here-we will fight it here and win. GET OUT OF AFGHAN NOW OBAMA!
Islamic insurgents are active in Yemen and Somalia, and Somali piracy continues. This creates threats on both sides of the Red Sea’s mouth that leads to the Suez Canal from the Persian Gulf. Al Qaeda would be in position to attack oil shipments for NATO and the US. Mechanized militaries and economies need oil to function, and economies develop and pay for the technological tools of modern militaries. The USS Cole attack shows that islamic insurgents can attack warships in these waters. For those reasons, US and NATO naval forces should focus on the Indian Ocean, the Red Sea, the Persian Gulf, and the Mediterranean Sea. Further, a threat on warships off the coast is harder to hit than troops on the ground. Air power and Seal raids can help African forces on the ground deal with problems if they are trained in coordination.
