When will we ever stop trying to get the rest of the world to do our bidding and/or dirty work (i.e. Gitmo, etc.)? If we can’t keep our secrets secret, maybe we shouldn’t be allowed to have any. Every day, We are adding proof positive to the world’s opinion of our weakness.
In my opinion, our government reflects our own inability to control Congress; they do what they damn well please with no regard for what the public wants. Expose our weakness so that we may become strong.

If there really is a government computer recording everything that goes through the internet, can you imagine how much spam and porn must be in there to sift through?

This is what happens when you have a president who has a personal and unhealthy obsession with crushing whistleblowers. He loses all credibility and has to deputizes smiling faces on his behalf.

Just give Ecuador more aid$. He will open his arms to Snowden and turn the traitor over to the US. Either execute him or turn him over to the camel jocks at Gitmo. Instead of “Shirley”, they’ll call him “Fatima”.

Nope, we’re not the only country that does stupid things, it’s just that we seem to take great delight in doing them and getting caught.
And it’s refreshing to know folks like you keep the odd-ball rolling.

The Germans seem very upset by the US and UK intercepting their networking, and breaking into their computer systems and stealing information, against German and EU laws.
If they granted Snowden political refugee status, or witness protection, with guarantees of security and access to media, then they are big and important enough to stop the US secret police and accomplices.
The win for the USA is that Snowden does not depend on China or Russia and risk losing important information, it does not antagonize most of Latin America, and US citizens get some chance at an informed debate about the secret law interpretations.

Since Snowden has already revealed whatever he knew he is now really of no use to anyone. He never had access to any US secrets, since he was not a trained agent but merely a small-time hacker for a private contractor.

Daniel77…Shut the “F” up! How has anything that the NSA has done affected your personal life?

You bozo’s don’t seem to get it! The NSA is looking for terrorist that intend to do us harm. They could care less about your moronic phone calls or what “porn” site you regularly visit. This program is sanctioned by The Patriot Act and set up under GW after the events of 911. And carried on today by Obama. Snowden’s STEALING of top secret government documents has potentially negatively impacted the effectiveness of this program. And may have put NSA operatives and American’s in harms way. If you think what Snowden did was heroic or patriotic you are a moron! Hero’s and Patriot’s don’t steal and they don’t give top secret government documents to our enemies.

To stop things like this, by starters there’s the need of evolve the current world economics mechanism, we still using a rudimentary tool that has control over everything.
