Way to water down your report & tailor it to fit Reuters agenda. A creepy man? Really? And three somewhat unbelievable witnesses saw the aftermath, vs one very credible witness that saw the events leading up to the fatal shot, let’s make sure we leave out those details as well, shall we?

Give me a break. Can’t exploit the racial overtones unless you inject the white vs black aspect?

It is dishonest to keep referring to Trayvon Martin as having been “unarmed”. Prosecution witnesses have confirmed that Martin was on top of Zimmerman engaging in “Ground and Pound”. Zimmerman was beaten and bloodied on his face and the back of his head.

You do not have to have a weapon (or be “armed”) to seriously injure or kill someone. Have someone straddle you and then start pounding the back of your head on the pavement, then tell me that person was “unarmed”.

Actually, Zimmerman is “Jewish and Hispanic”.

Get your facts straight, Reuters.

While we’re at it, Obama is “Black and White”. According to you race baiters, if Zimmerman is “white” then so is Obama.

Why is there an elevator behind the witness stand? I have been an attorney for 25yrs. and have had 100′s of Jury Trials, and I cannot figure what that is. In case Hannibal Lecter ever had to testify???

If Zimmerman is white and Hispanic, why isn’t Obama labeled black and Hispanic in your articles?

The prosecution is doing an excellent job in this case. They have laid the foundations and are now proving to the jury that Zimmerman began his lies to police from the very start. The truth is emerging very clearly.
This killer is going to be convicted, I’d bet money on it.

No prosecution witness saw a “pound and ground”! That was clarified through the witness himself, John Good. Get your facts straight!

Winston Smith: that’s novel view of what it means to be “armed.” Apparently anone with arms will be deemed “armed” in your universe. Ar ewe all “armed and dangerous,” or just “armed?” I’m happy to say the rest of the world isn’t as desperate to see the outcome they want here. And no, if I was being pummeled by an unarmed person, it wouldn’t make that peson “armed.”

From his mouth to God’s ears huh? The first 4 days of this trial the prosecution reined supreme. Then on the 5th day the defense seemed to score some points when one witness put Trayvon on top during the fight. “Raining blows.” On this day the score goes again to the prosecution. It’s the very words of the accused that are coming back to haunt him. Overall, as much as the bigots and racist will disagree, it looks like the police and prosecution did the correct thing by charging this guy with murder. The old saying; “The truth shall set you free,” isn’t going to work for the murderer in this case. The truth, will turn the lock on his cell, and the clang of the steel door will say,; “Let justice be served.”

Visitors from China remarked as to how much hatred and bigotry exist in the US as demonstrated by these posts. So very true. For like cockroaches coming out in the dark, the worms of hate crawling out of their dank holes to spread their disease upon the few who would listen.
But, as the light of day brings sunshine to the land, the bigots and racist will again climb down into their holes and feast upon the dropping of human kind. I’ll stay in the sunshine myself.

Why is the fairness of his skin an issue that needed addressed in this article? Why does the left wing media keep trying to make this guy white? He’s clearly not white, so now you’re minimizing the brownness of his skin? This is not journalism. It’s straight up racial incitement.

This story is written with a bias that is painfully apparent to anyone that is paying attention to the facts and testimony. This sort of biased reporting is the reason GZ is on trial for his life. Shame on the reporter.

You are correct Grainofsalt, Jon Good merely saw Martin on top of a man screaming for help with arm movements raining down on him in what looked like an MMA ground and pound and did not actually see Martins fists making contact with Zimmerman bloody battered face. Purely circumstantial evidence. That’s almost as funny as Eric Holder throwing the U.S. the governments weight into ferreting out any racism in this case any missing a phrase like “creepy ass cracker”(although you can hardly blame them because I watched a prosecution witness, under oath, put those words in Martins mouth and I am having a hard time finding evidence of it by reading from unreliable so called news sources.)

I am as much interested in the trial as everyone else, but would like to point out to all posters on this thread, neither you nor I were there. None of us saw anything, heard anything, witnessed anything or were included in any cell phone conversations during this altercation. So, I would recommend, we allow the jury to decide.

Frankly, I think the state of Florida will end up being the entity on trial for their “Stand Your Ground” law. Zimmerman is claiming self-defense under this law, but since Martin cannot testify, who is to say that Martin was also in fear of his life and stood his ground. After this trial, it will be very interesting to see what Florida does about this law.

Flashrooster,
are you there…I returned back in town sooner. I think the most significant point you have made which makes Zimmeman responsible to a significant degree is the fact that he got out of the car. when he stepped out of the car, he was accepting the fact that there may be a confrontation and he could have avoided it if he would have stayed in the car. I concur with that. did he intend and hunt down trayvon? I don’t think so, but he definitely raised the stakes to a higher level when he got out of the car. Is he guilty of Murder I am not sure of…but definitely something. I don’t think trayvon is innocent also, I really believe he (mistakenly but intentionally) attacked Zimmerman. I think the stand your ground law is still a reasonable law (the intent is anyway, however, it should be enforced correctly and not abused by vigilantes). My real desire in this whole case is that a reasonable verdict and sentence will be reached that is fair to zimmerman and we all can live with (without an increase in violence). We need to encourage citizen participation in communities, and we do not need to give the thugs the right to roam as they please.

There was NO ‘order’ not to follow. Zimmerman had every right in the world to get out of his vehicle and see what the stranger in the neighborhood was doing. He WAS in the neighborhood watch, it is kind of what they do…voluntarily. Getting out of his car is not an offensive nor illegal activity.
