It was much nicer when Hussein was in power and just killed and tortured all of the shi’ites and kurds right? For the majority of the population life is better than it was under Sadaam. Besides, Japan was not the great society and ally it now is 4 years after the end of World War 2. You are going to need to look at Iraq in another 3 decades to get a good picture of the results of our intervention.

Time to get out of the ME entirely. Let them kill each other. I’m dizzy and confused trying to keep track of who believes what and which entity is PRO- self determination, and which one is PRO- theocratic rule from on-high.
This is not our land, it is not our belief structure. Let them kill each other off in a closed society, and see who’s left standing. Whoever is left will get to join the rest of the world in economic gains – but NOT until the “disruption” has been decimated – and let them decide WHO gets to be decimated!

But, but….according to liberals, there WERE no al Qaeda in Iraq – ever. So how did they get into the prison. The liberal answer: They were never there.

The author writes “Terrorist attack”. Wrong, they didn’t use ‘fear’ and ‘terror’ to get access to the prison. They used military gear and military tactics. I.e. it’s not a ‘terrorist attack’ just because they happen to be terrorists. Big, big difference. The author must have been schooled by Bush and Cheney “terror, terror, terror”. No. Not terror. Reschool yourself, Reuters.

Shock and Awe. Bush was a collector of useless prisoners and military contracts. This was his legacy. Obama…. more of a drone guy. Not so much on the dog leashes and litigation.

@IrvingC, it has been well documented that Al-Qaeda was not operating in Iraq, beyond maybe hiding out where NOONE knows they are, until AFTER we invaded. Saddam considered them a threat so he activly pursured any known elements in the country.
