It’s a snow storm… how much of an idiot would you be to screw up something that you deal with every winter?

What are the chances we’ll read a “joke” that Comedian Dean Obeidallah will make about De Blasio’s “token” wife and kids?…….nahhhhh, De Blasio is a Democrat so I doubt it.

Oh, and BTW, if he was a GOPer, chances for blunders drop to 50/50 at best.

ACTIVE SUN PORTENDS POSSIBLE GRIM TIMES AHEAD

SpaceWeather.com — 2014 began with a bang. At 18:54 UT on January 1st, big sunspot AR1936 erupted, producing a strong M9-class solar flare. NASA’s Solar Dynamics Observatory captured the explosion’s extreme ultraviolet flash: The movie shows a dark filament of plasma racing away from the blast site, but most of the material fell back to the stellar surface. Nevertheless, the explosion did produce a CME that could deliver a glancing blow to Earth’s magnetic field later this week. NOAA analysts are still evaluating this possibility.

The M9-flare of New Year’s Day followed close on the heels of an M6-flare on New Year’s Eve. Sunspot AR1936 produced both explosions. The New Year’s Eve event produced a minor, slow-moving CME that is not expected to disturb Earth’s magnetic field if and when it does arrive.

Sunspot AR1936 is active, but new sunspot AR1944 looks even more potent. The behemoth active region emerged over the sun’s southeastern limb on Jan 1st:

Because of foreshortening near the sun’s limb, the complexity of AR1944′s magnetic field is still unknown. The sheer size of the sunspot, however, suggests it is capable of strong flares. The emergence of AR1944 combined with the ongoing activity from AR1936 has prompted NOAA forecasters to raise the odds of eruptions on Jan. 2nd to 70% for M-flares and 30% for X-flares.

Yes, a snow storm in New York is the test of a Mayor.

And whether or not Texas gets hot in the summer is a referendum on the leadership of Ted Cruz. Anything above 70 degrees in August and Ted Cruz is an idiot :)

@Sp60000 you would think half a foot of snow is nothing but living in NYC people are not prepared for it and it all comes down to proper management which is easier said than done especially when there are 1.6 million residents in Manhattan or 8.3 million NYC residents total. Transportation is the heart of the city and snow paralyzes it by shutting down trains and buses. Ask Bloomberg in 2010 when some subways were down for days after a huge storm. For me this is odd since I am originally from Maine where the roads were quickly cleaned or people just stayed inside and whether the storm, but this is NYC where everyone has somewhere to be or something to do and when mass transportation is shutdown people loose money and I mean lots of money. With a blizzard it comes down to the MTA and city workers constantly icing, sanding, and snow removal but this is hard feat to accomplish with a blizzard pushing down snow hard and fast everywhere. Bill de Blasio has a tough 24 hours or so ahead, but if he manages city employees and MTA workers well and stays present the city will not go to waste.

Well you have to consider that much of the citizens in these massive liberal cities have been taught that the government is there for all of their daily needs, not to mention their needs during an “emergency”. They need to be reassured daily that the big brother is watching over them and will supply all their needs. I wish them the best though. If there is one tough liberal city that comes together and doesn’t start rioting, looting, raping, and killing in the wake of a disaster it is New York. They have been great examples in times past of how to handle natural and man made disasters. Hopefully they are bringing their children up to behave the same way.
