Bar none Wolf of Wall Street is a masterpiece, a masterpiece of a movie production all around. Now, receiving a tainted tarnished gold plaited statue is a whole other thing.

Wolf was by far the best picture. Gravity was ok but overrated.

too many special effects/ editing / computer imaging going on in movies today / some might think a movie like ‘captain phillips’ is ‘lame’/ again- i would rather watch a Tom Hanks or Meryl Streep film any day than the mind boggling special effects (Gravity and story line mumbo jumbo (American Hustle) that is considered fine cinema/ i liken it to all the youth orientated artists like Gaga and Cyrus who produce material written by dozens of people in order for it to be a ‘hit’/ if that all is ‘artistry’ / well- eeww (my vote this year would go to Under the Candelabra)
