“Given the length of time your administration has studied the Keystone XL pipeline and the public’s overwhelming support for it…”

the only supporters of this pipeline are Canada, and the far right conservative hawks looking to profit handsomely from transporting 830,000 barrels a day of the most environmentally damaging type of oil across the united states through a rushed pipeline project to be refined and exported offshore to Asia. This will create only temporary jobs, and not nearly the employment figures touted by the benefactors of the oil industry.

right now, we are reeling from an oil railcar explosion in north dakota, a tosic spill in west virginia (where the owners of the company responsible quickly shielded their assets through bankruptcy, fled the scene, and are leaving all the costs for cleanup and damages on the back of taxpayers…), and just a few years after the worst oil-related disaster in north american history in the gulf of mexico.

NO TO THE KEYSTONE PIPELINE. i am one american who does NOT overwhelmingly approve of and support this inevitable environmental disaster in the making…

Infuriating the Canadians and forcing them to sell abroad so they net less for their oil due to the higher transportation costs is just plain stupid.

The CEO of the pipeline was asked directly by congress if 100% of the oil shipped thru the USA would be sold to the USA and he said NO. Bottom line is that the canadians want us to commit to their tar sands since they know natural gas is going to put them out of business.

Personally, I don’t of a single person that’s in favor of the KXL pipeline, although I’m from the Pacific Northwest, and we’ve got the mass exodus of our precious coal resources to contend with. Could anyone please give me one good reason, other than a few jobs here and there, for us to export our non-renewable resources overseas?
Once they’re gone, they’re gone for good; seems short-sighted to me.
Everybody’s so worried about the deficit bankrupting our children; what good will any money be to them if there’s nothing left to buy?
GOP/NRA/TEA party coalition foolishness; greedy old robber-barons.

The Keystone pipeline construction would give jobs to what has been the middle class if Obama approves it. Now under Obama who has fared better, the low income, middle class or rich people? during the five years of Obama the RICH people have fared best with the low income next with the middle class actually losing ground financially. Now in congress which party have more RICH members? There are more rich democrats in congress than republicans. I wonder when these rich congresspersons obtained their wealth? Before or after being elected to public(?) service?
Now most of the spending that has occurred under Obama has been to keep the financial institutions, to promote green ideas of Obama’s rich friends so that they would not loose money on their failed ventures. That $85 billion each month has been designed to keep the stock market high for rich people benefit.
