Expecting Pr.Assad to agree on transitional govt is expecting the whole world to change overnight. Concentrating on opening up humanitarian corridor is the first and foremost step towards progress for Syria. Withholding aid should be considered a war crime.

I can understand the arrest if she had no diplomatic immunity at the time of arrest. I can even understand continuing to pursue legal action against her even right now. But what was the strip search for? A strip search is completely preposterous for anyone in this country, who is innocent till proven guilty. And if we allow strip searches, why stop there? Where do we draw the line, and how soon before it becomes routine to do cavity searches (read: anal/vaginal probes) on everyone being arrested? Shame on the police department that did this strip search.

A recent Washington Post article reported that 1.4% of India’s population is slaves. It was reiterated that these were real slaves in labor slavery and sex slavery, not oppressed workers or tenant farmers. That is about 13,000,000 people which is equal to the total number of slaves transported to the Western Hemisphere in the history of the Atlantic slave trade. This woman is an elite in a slave-owning culture.
