marriage between one man and one woman is “uniquely suited to the rearing of children.” WRONG! There is zero evidence to support that claim.

3bladerunner you MUST be a D’rat because you are living in an uninformed fantasy world. Google some studies – children do better in a traditional marriage situation. And 2 women raising a family has the highest chance of living in poverty. Don’t feel bad, the US children rank below the education of children of Asian street cleaners. You are a victim of the D’rat bought and paid for Teacher’s Union. Yes – Dumb and Dumber everyday in the USA. Easier to fool that way.

Wrong. Attitudes haven’t changed. You in the media are just reporting them that way. Voters still, by a large, vast majority, still support traditional marriage and do not want their laws or constitutional provisions overturned

Sexual choice is not a civil right but a choice, you cannot compare it with skin color or gender, if you okay this sin then you open the door to the slippery slope of immorality which destroys all nations. People rise up and let these judges know you will not sit silent while sin trys to change the truth.

Wrong, this is why we have a constitution, so a majority cannot oppress a minority. How would you feel if one day, the majority outlawed Christians or traditional marriage? Don’t you want the same constitutional protection?

BTW, there is no traditional marriage. In the bible, having multiple wives was common, or if your brother died, you married his widow? If your new wife on your wedding night, had no hymen, you could stone her to death. Those are just bible examples. Much of the old testament was based on early tribal laws, did Jesus every say anything about gays or marriage?

It seems odd to me that someone who’s reached as far into the legal profession as Mrs. Heyse would recognize basic concepts of logical debate like “argumentum ad populum” (appeal to popularity) are unsupportable. Furthermore, DeToqueville’s essay on democracy clearly illustrates that possibly its greatest deficiency is the potential for there to be a “Tyranny of the Majority”, wherein a populist majority can impose it’s will, including the desire to discriminate on a minority, through democratic means. The same rationale would have been perfectly applicable in the Southern US during the mid-19th century if the subject was Slavery, but by now (hopefully!) we all recognize that slavery is wrong universally. Just because a majority of people WANT to discriminate against a given minority does NOT make their desire just, legitimate or moral.

People are always mixing up discrimination with other things. Discrimination of a Race is different from qualifying for something. If a dealer refuses to sell to a Black Man, that is discrimination. If they refuse to give a Black Man a License because he don’t qualify because of is age (to young) or did not comply in other areas, that is NOT discrimination, it is a not qualifying thing. Gays by their very composition, discriminates. People are just blind to it for their own discriminating reasons. Pity

Ummmm… okay. Who doesn’t? If the ban were to be stuck down, would that somehow make “traditional” 1m/1f marriages illegal? No, it wouldn’t.

The sign they should be carrying probably is “We Oppose Nontraditional Marriages”.

Then again, bigotry and intellectual honesty aren’t common companions.
