It looks like Israel is working hand in hand with Al-Qaeda in Syria, just as it did on 9/11 in the United States.

Good for Israel. I want to see Israel go after Assad again but in a big context. This Syrian war needs to be ended NOW! And it seem that Israel is the only one that has the courage to attack Syria…shame on the UN!

This is again, a strategic pawn move, made by Iran, thru its surrogate…They want to open a 2 front war, so the Israelis wont bomb their nuclear sites…Iran pulls the strings and all in the mid east dance. They need to all visit iran and spread likewise cheer there, so the Iranians will pay a cost for meddling, in every country, in the middle east…

“but both sides signaled they were not seeking further escalation.”

There’s a contradiction here. Road side bombs get air strikes? Nobody wants escalation? Sure they don’t. They enjoy getting on each other’s nerves.

Strictly speaking, the Golan heights belongs to Syria. The UN has said so for years. In other words, someone in Syria is taking it back precisely to escalate the war in Syria. The Golan heights is another of those territories that Israel claims by right of conquest. It’s real Old detestable Testament stuff. Its right out of the days when “God” loved barbecue on the hoof, slaves and the massacre of everyone on the other side. And he liked the other side’s gold and silver ornaments too, by the ton.

It’s getting hotter in hell.

is genius. Keep it coming. “You gonna take that, Hezbollah? Al Qaeda just called your mom a Zionist prostitute. And then got bagel crumbs on your Koran.”

Glad I was not born or live in the Middle East. Seems like vengeance is the number one religious faith to live by – pounded into each young mind since conception. Peace is just a smoking burned lifeless meadow in their minds.

There are 1000s of ready logic arguments why you must take revenge – number one being – you will appear weak otherwise. Why worry about heaven or hell when you die. Vengeful minds go to hell – hell you created your own hell right here on earth.

This Israeli act is a provocation but Syria should ignore Israel’s provocations and maintains its focus on defeating terrorists who are destroying lives and property. Israel will be dealt with when the time is right.

To state “Israel captured the Golan from Syria in the 1967 war and annexed it in a move not recognised abroad” is more than an understatement. I believe it is common knowledge that UN Security Council Resolution 497 (1981) judged the annexation and occupation of the Golan Heights to be illegal under international law. That is considerably more potent than not being “recognised abroad.”

Further, it is stated “While the Syrian army has a presence in the Golan, some areas are controlled by the rebels fighting to topple Assad, including al Qaeda-inspired militants hostile to the Jewish state.” Then we don’t really know who was responsible for the initial roadside bomb, do we? The reality is that there are numerous groups with various goals in the area. Does Israel claim to have definitive evidence of culpability, or did it just lash out? Even if it was the Syrian Army (which defies logic, given recent developments–why invite an inevitable and unnecessary front when you are at a newly strategic advantage?) then Israel’s “response” is, as usual, highly disproportionate. If Israel wanted peace and security, it could have referred the matter to the UN instead of dispensing more violence. But then Israel seems to thrive on brutal aggression.
