Who the heck wrote this story? You left enough out to make a good news story make no sense.

Editor!!!! Wow, this article is almost painful to read, and attempt to make sense out of the content.

Here’s a clue for the writer: “Who, what, where, when, how and why”. Is that so difficult?

I agree the article was not well written. As far as I can make out, they saw the boy was about to fall, placed their mattress and then Konrad actually caught the boy when he was nearly at ground level. A three year old toddler weighs quite a bit so it is not surprising he lowered the boy real fast to the mattress. At the risk of his own injury, Konrad broke the boy’s fall and with the aid of the mattress saved his life.

As a child I once climbed out of an upstairs window and sat on the sill. My horrified mother called upon the man next door, who put up a ladder and rescued me. Chldren do do these things and windows in high buildings should all be made to open only a little, so to prevent any further cases.
